ABOUT ME

I first discovered Pilates in 2011. I signed on to 10 weeks of classes just to try something new. The difference it made in my posture, confidence and overall sense of health and well-being has been so remarkable that I haven't been able to stop! Pilates has also helped me reduce and cope with chronic pain in my upper back and around my shoulder blade. Now as an instructor, I'm eager to share these benefits with everyone who shows interest, both beginners and experienced Pilates enthusiasts. As I explored the fitness world and learned more about anatomy, physiology, and the way the body feels, I have expanded my training as well. I am now also a nationally certified Personal Training Specialist, with the ability to help you develop a fitness routine to enhance your cardiorespiratory fitness, flexibilty, and muscluar strength and endurance.

Beyond my Pilates certifications, I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in Theology and Politics. I worked for eight years at an organization that helped refugees resettle in Winnipeg, where I developed a passion for non-profit work and the people who provide and access non-profit services. My first language is English, but I'm also fluent in French, and I can communicate in Spanish.

When I'm not teaching, I like to read, eat food that someone else cooked, hang out with my nephew, eat ice cream, hike though Bird's Hill or IKEA, relax on the beach, or watch TV. I live with my boyfriend, our dog, and our two cats, so I've often got someone to curl up with. I also love participating in Pilates challenges on Instagram, where I am constantly inspired and finding new ideas. Follow along @vckpilates!
